IGS Energy Receives Healthy Ohio Healthy Worksite Award from the Healthy Ohio Business Council
Dublin, OH, January 20, 2017 – IGS Energy was recognized at Ohio Healthy Business Council's (HOBC) 13th annual Healthy Ohio Healthy Worksite Awards, held on Thursday, January 19, 2017, in Columbus. The energy supplier received a Gold Award in the medium business category (301-1,000 employees).
“Health and wellness efforts result in significant benefits for both employers and employees,” David Cowden, chair of HOBC said. “Positive returns on investment are realized for an employee who improves his or her health and the employer who realizes reductions in healthcare costs and an overall increase in productivity and job satisfaction.”
These awards recognize Ohio employers who demonstrate a commitment to employee wellness through comprehensive worksite health promotion and wellness programs. Applicants are scored on the extent their wellness programs facilitate and encourage employee health, enhance productivity and ensure a healthy work environment.
Nicole Ringle, chief people officer at IGS, said, “This award is an honor because it recognizes the many health and wellness-related initiatives we have implemented. We’ve created a culture at IGS where wellness is highly valued by everyone in our organization, and we have plans to continue enhancing our programs.”
Including IGS Energy, 88 Buckeye state employers, representing three categories (small, medium, and large), were honored for healthy practices at their companies during the event.
