IGS to Donate to Community Action Partnership of the Greater Dayton Region
IGS, parent company of Dublin, Ohio energy supplier IGS Energy, announced that it will be making a donation the Community Action Partnership of the Greater Dayton Region.
Dublin, OH, February 9, 2016 – IGS, parent company of Dublin, Ohio energy supplier IGS Energy, announced that it will be making a donation the Community Action Partnership of the Greater Dayton Region. The residential and commercial energy supplier is primary sponsor of the Miami Valley Home World show being held February 6-8 and 13-15 at the Dayton Airport Expo Center. At their booth, IGS Energy will be hosting a “Pedal to Make an Impact” bike fundraiser. For every 30-second ride by participants at the show, they plan to make a donation to the non-profit organization, which provides urgent basic services to citizens in need residing in Butler, Darke, Greene, Miami, Montgomery, Preble and Warren counties.
Funds raised at the show will benefit the Winter Crisis and Weatherization programs of the Community Action Partnership (CAP). The Winter Crisis program provides eligible households with a one-time payment for a utility emergency and additional funds may be available for bulk fuel or to pay for heating oil. The free Weatherization program is available to eligible homeowners and renters to reduce heat loss and air infiltration in their homes. It will save them money, make homes safe, comfortable and energy efficient. Also included is free consumer education and advice to help them reduce their energy bills.
Jen Bowden, IGS’ director of community investment said, “CAP’s Winter Crisis and Weatherization programs give us a great opportunity to bring energy to those whose monthly budgets are stretched by an increased gas or electricity bill in the winter months. Not only do we want to keep homes warm during the winter months, but this program helps to bring energy efficiency to residents, helping their dollars go further during the months when heating bills rise.”
IGS will donate one dollar to Community Action Partnership of the Greater Dayton Area for each 30-second bike ride by HomeWorld participants at the IGS Energy booth (up to $5,000).
