IGS Solar's Southeastern Massachusetts Solar Farm Now Producing Power for Latham Centers, Area Businesses and Residents
IGS Solar, together with Melink Solar, Inc., recently completed construction of a 1 MW ground-mounted solar array in Rochester, Massachusetts.
Dublin, OH, March 1, 2017 – IGS Solar, a turn-key commercial and residential solar provider, together with Melink Solar, Inc., a global provider of energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions, recently completed construction of a 1 MW ground-mounted solar array in Rochester, Massachusetts. Half of the renewable energy benefits businesses and residents in southeastern Massachusetts, with the remaining to be used by Latham Centers, Inc.’s residential treatment school facilities located in and around Brewster, serving children ages 8-22 with special needs 365 days-per-year.
Anne McManus, president of Latham Centers, said, “As a result of this project, Latham Centers is not only positioned to save on our long-term electricity costs, but we are also doing our part to continue being a strong role model to our students, staff members, and residents. By participating in a renewable energy future using solar, we’re excited to achieve both of these goals.”
Latham Centers, Inc.’s residential treatment school facilities located in and around Brewster, serving children ages 8-22 with special needs 365 days-per-year, is the anchor off-taker of the array.
The solar array was constructed off Snipatuit Road in Rochester. Latham Centers is the anchor off-taker of the array, which was developed as a community solar farm as part of the SREC II program.
