Columbus, Ohio – IGS Energy was honored Friday, November 7 at the Conway Center for Family Business 16th Annual Family Business Awards Program and Expo with an award in the Milestone Achievements category. The award recognizes family businesses that have reached a significant milestone during 2014. IGS Energy celebrated their 25th anniversary this year.
The Conway Center’s Family Business Awards Program was established in 1999 to recognize excellence in family business and has honored over 150 local family businesses throughout that time.
“It’s extremely important to recognize the accomplishments of Central Ohio’s family businesses,” said Dick Emens, executive director of the Conway Center for Family Business. “They’re the foundation of our community and a key contributor to a healthy and vibrant Central Ohio economy. We’re fortunate to have many great family-owned businesses in the Central Ohio region – we estimate at least 6,000 – and our 160+ members employ over 17,000 hard-working people in Central Ohio.”
“IGS Energy is so honored to be recognized by the Conway Center for Family Business for our 25th year in business,” said Scott White, president and CEO of IGS Energy. “It’s truly inspiring to be listed among the ranks with so many other excellent family businesses throughout Ohio,” he said. “When my father, Marv, and I started this company back in 1989, we had no idea where the road might take us. Being acknowledged for reaching such an important corporate milestone is reinforcement that what we’re doing matters.”
