Dublin, OH, December 8, 2016 – IGS Energy was recognized at Mental Health America of Franklin County’s (MHAFC) 60th annual Holiday Magic event, held on Wednesday, December 7 in Columbus.
The goals of the annual event are two-fold: honoring individuals and organizations that help advance MHAFC’s mission and collecting gifts for patients spending the holidays at the Twin Valley Behavioral Center. The Corporate Partner Award is given to an organization that supports mental health in the workplace and in the community.
“We’ve seen firsthand the importance IGS places on employee wellbeing through promoting and rewarding healthy lifestyles and offering services to employees to improve their health,” said Maggie Hallett, EdS, LPC, director of development and marketing with Mental Health America of Franklin County.
Additionally, Kristin Chek, IGS’ assistant general counsel-corporate, has served on MHAFC’s board of trustees for over a year.
“We work hard to create a corporate culture where mental health is recognized as an important component of overall employee wellness. Being recognized by MHFAC, a respected champion in the area of mental health, is very important to us,” said Jen Bowden, IGS’ director of community investment.
IGS was one of the first companies in Central Ohio to certify a group of employees in Mental Health First Aid, a program that teaches individuals how to identify and respond to signs of mental illness and substance abuse. The energy supplier also offers a comprehensive wellness program for employees, including mental health resources, onsite meditation offerings, and a robust Employee Assistance Program.
