IGS Energy was recognized during the annual Corporate Caring awards luncheon held by Columbus Business First on Thursday, June 18.
The Corporate Caring program honors Central Ohio companies for their investment in the area’s charities and nonprofit organizations. A panel of industry experts chooses from three tiers of companies—small (100 or fewer employees), medium, and large (500+), all of whom are either self-nominated or nominated by the charities they serve. The selection categories are: arts, education, environmental, health and human services. The Benefactor of the Year award goes to the highest honored company.
Over 130 nominations were entered for this year’s awards, and the winners were announced at the luncheon Thursday. In addition to IGS Energy, more than 60 companies were honored for financial contributions, volunteer service, and other unique contributions made to Columbus' charities and nonprofit organizations. The awards luncheon also included an interview with Jeni Britton Bauer of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams.
